About Me
I grew up loving computers, multimedia, and motor racing. I’ve managed to pursue these interests through my career, arriving at the BBC out of university and then moving to McLaren Formula 1 a couple of years after that.
I’m a big believer in the impact of whimsy, even in serious domains, and try always to maintain a degree of joy and fun in my work and my pursuits. This blog is currently a little devoid of whimsy, but to try and better cultivate a habit of writing regularly, I focused on getting a somewhat sterile MVP live sooner rather than later. Whimsy will follow.
In my spare time I game a lot, enjoy music (live, recorded, and attempting to do things with instruments), and chase around after cats.
This Website
This website is intended to be a place for me to communicate thoughts and ideas. I expect few of them to be noteworthy or otherwise profound. However, the intent is to give me somewhere to write with intent, for the sake of writing and of practicing the art of communication, as well as, when inspiration occurs, sharing things that spark something for me.
Previous attempts at blogs have fixated on how they look and iterating on designs and platforms rather than the writing. The goal here is to avoid that and focus on the words rather than what they appear within.
If inspiration doesn’t strike, I intend to, at a minimum, update the now section at least once per month. This will be a periodic log of what I’m doing, enjoying, or otherwise finding note in.
